Hello, World!

I’m MommaNut, the author of Life in a Nutshell. Here’s my backstory: I’m married to the most wonderful man in the world, whom I’ll call PoppaNut in my blog. We have been married for more than six years, and are having the time of our lives. We have two puppynuts in our home: Peanut, our little girl Chihuahua, and Cashew, our male Chihuahua.

We have had Peanut since Feburary 2010. PoppaNut gave me Peanut for Valentine’s Day, and I have loved her ever since. Cashew came into our lives in May 2011 … Peanut needed a little friend and we wanted to expand our puppynut family. Peanut is not a huge fan of Cashew yet, but they have a larger entity to fight now: Our son, Reece. Reece joined our family in October 2013 and he brings such joy to our home.

Writing is my creative outlet. I have been writing for years, and I can’t imagine ever stopping. I have written for advertising campaigns, local boutiques, area businesses, regional and national magazines and now for my own blog.

Life in a Nutshell is just that … I’ll write about anything and everything relevant to my life … in as much of a nutshell as I can make it. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoy creating it.
